Biography:
Born 1345 in Tehran, left the country after various political
activities and arrests in my youth and came to Canada in 1983 as a teenager. Attended
Ontario College of Arts and graduated from Michigan State University.
Have been involved with various community organizations and campaigns in
Canada,most notably;
- Director of CIRCLE (Canadian Iranian Centre for Liberty & Equality)
- President of Iranian Community Association of Ontario
- Founder of Stop Deportations to Iran campaign
- 1Founding Member of Iranian Advisory Committee
I also have a sizable history of work with non-Irani groups;
- Candidate in Federal Election of 1997
- Federal and Provincial Executive Member, New Democratic Party
- Urban Alliance on Race Relations
- Association in Defense of the Wrongly Convicted, with Hurricane Carter
- Campaign Director, Canadian Union of Public Employees
- Campaign President, Barbara Hall for Mayor of Toronto
- Plus various other campaigns and organizations
Have lived in California since 2000 and have an e-magazine coming out
shortly!
